President's Diary RSS

August 14, 2026 This year I was planning to take a business course at a certain university. The theme was "How to Drive Corporate Transformation." However, the duties of being President keep me quite busy, so I failed to apply in time, and by the time I realised it, registration was already closed. Waaaaah! As frustrating as it is, I'm definitely going to get my revenge next year. While researching the content that was scheduled to be covered in the course, I came across a case study of a failed corporate transformation at a certain company. Despite spending a fortune...

August 13, 2026 The other day, I went for my annual comprehensive health checkup (Ningen Doc). CT scan, MRI, X-rays, blood tests... a true "full-course inspection." The moment I arrived at the clinic, my posture straightened right up. Even if you think there's nothing wrong with you, when it comes to health, you never really know. The path to the examination room: If you fear it, there is no path. If you step forward, that single step becomes the path... Anyway, in my case, due to years of intense weight training, my Creatine Kinase (CK) levels—which rise when muscle fibers...

August 12, 2026 After the show in Takasaki, Gunma, I took a taxi to Takasaki Station together with Young Lion Matsumoto. In the car, I made sure to invite him, saying, "Let's ride back to the Dojo together from Tokyo Station, too." Why? ...Because carpooling with others saves the company money, of course! Speaking of Matsumoto, he has that ridiculously shredded physique. I'm genuinely envious. On our way back, I probed into his roots and asked him all sorts of detailed questions. It was so interesting that I thought I’d share it here. Matsumoto hails from Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture....

August 11, 2026 The other day at Korakuen Hall, a group of middle and high school students participated in the operation of our event as part of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government's vocational work experience program. At our morning meeting that day, what I communicated to all our employees wasn't "teach them how to do the job neatly." Above all else, the most important thing was for us to show them our unvarnished "expressions and energy as we face our work with absolute seriousness." Showing our full-power selves to these young students, who are watching while overlaying their future working selves...

August 10, 2026 Today is a bit of a special day. Starting at noon, a group of seven middle and high school students will be visiting the New Japan Pro-Wrestling office for a vocational work experience program. I'm scheduled to handle a one-hour talk and Q&A session with them, and how should I put it... I'm just so excited for it. I often describe New Japan Pro-Wrestling as a "company that sells energy for tomorrow." Our product isn't cakes, nor is it ice cream (though we do have an Ice; Yuto-Ice, that is). What people purchase from us is something...

August 8, 2026 The other day, I went to the theater to watch the movie Kingdom, which features my senior Makabe-paisen! Watching the young Shin grow alongside his comrades after Great General O Ki departs made me think, "Responsibility? Resolve? What is it that makes a person grow?" After the movie ended—without even knowing from whose perspective I was making this judgment—I found myself thinking, "Wouldn't it be so interesting to bring this exact worldview into New Japan Pro-Wrestling?" There's so much to learn from Kingdom, but what I felt most strongly was the proposition of "How to fight after...

August 7, 2026 Looking at Boltin, I can't help but think, "Man, I wish I had a body like that." But then, watching his training sessions at the Dojo, I quickly give up thinking, "Ah, nope, impossible..." That's just how exceptionally unbelievable his physical strength is. Seeing wrestlers like TAKESHITA and Tsuji fighting him on equal terms makes me want to look up to the sky and proclaim; "A truly amazing era for pro wrestling has arrived." He really is off the charts, isn't he? At the recent Hiroshima show, he pinned former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion SANADA just 90...

August 6, 2026 Today, let's talk a little bit about Yuto-Ice. I think a lot of people look at him and feel, "Man, he really lives his truth, doesn't he?" If I had to guess, that way of living isn't something he consciously forces; it comes naturally to him, and that's his true strength. Now, time for a quick explanation break. His real name is Yuto Nakajima. He hails from Ogaki City in Gifu Prefecture, and amazingly, he's actually my junior from Ogaki City Higashi Junior High School! To think a fellow wrestler would come out of the very same...

August 4, 2026 This morning, I had an interview and photo shoot for the magazine Enshu, where I had the privilege of holding a dialogue with Sojitsu Kobori-san, the Grand Master of the Enshu Sado School. Kobori-san welcomed me with incredible warmth. Once our conversation began, I was so deeply moved by the weight and depth behind every single word he spoke that I found myself completely spellbound—listening intently, even though I was supposed to be one of the interviewees! (laughs) What struck me most during our talk was what he shared about the manners, etiquette, traditions, and meticulous rules...

August 3, 2026 When it comes to match content alone, we now live in an era where you can watch anytime, anywhere with just a single smartphone. And yet, there are still fans who physically make their way out to the venues. I wanted to properly put that "why" into words for myself. At the recent G1 CLIMAX Sapporo show, I felt the raw heat of the entire arena against my skin for the first time in a long while. The cheers, the applause, the intense energy. That is something that simply cannot be conveyed 100% through a stream screen...
