Episode 94: The Number One Envy

June 22, 2026

There is a wrestler out there right now who I look at and genuinely think, "Man, he is so damn cool." Can you guess who it is? What? No way, you think it's Kosei Fujita? Come on, there's no way the answer would be that painfully obvious, right in the dead-center of what everyone is already thinking...

Well, you got it. That’s exactly who it is.

Fujita is just so incredibly cool (stating the obvious here). He has this edgy, sharp aura that completely refuses to pander to anyone. A bit of a bad boy vibe, you know? And on top of that, his athleticism is off the charts. His physique is phenomenal. His maneuvers are crisp, and his knife-edge chops are absolutely devastating.

Plus, within his faction, TMDK, he has mentors like Zack-sensei and Robbie-sensei. He is practically sitting in the perfect protagonist position. But that’s not all. Through his ring gear and his entrance music, he successfully projects the entire worldview of "Kosei Fujita" to the audience. Ugh... the kid literally has zero flaws.

And then, as I was scrolling through the information floating down my X (formerly Twitter) timeline this morning... I found myself trembling. I don't even know what kind of emotion I'm feeling right now, but I am physically shaking.

【ROTTEN GRAFFTY × KOSEI FUJITA】

As a massive fan of ROTTEN GRAFFTY myself, I am incredibly envious of him. However, wearing my hat as the President, I am also deeply excited to see what kind of chemical reaction will explode when rock music and professional wrestling collide. But still... the wrestler in me is a little salty about it (laughs).

As a competitor, when you successfully connect pro-wrestling with the things and genres you personally love, it fills you with an indescribable sense of pure happiness. For myself, at this year's January 4th Tokyo Dome show, a group of my absolute favorite artists gathered together to form 【IT’S THE AI BAND】 and produced a custom track for me. That was a definitive moment where I thought, "Man, I'm so glad I love music."

Circling back to Fujita, his physical capabilities and visuals are obviously stellar, but more fundamentally, he possesses the raw body, the speed, and above all, the most critical element: 【mental toughness】.

The comments he made regarding Wato, who was in the same block as him during the tournament, were biting and harsh. But it was precisely because of that friction that the hype and attention surrounding the "Fujita vs. Wato" match skyrocketed. I truly believe that wrestlers who possess this trifecta of spirituality, physical capability, and striking visuals are the ones who break through the walls of genres and generations.

By the way, YOH—the man who actually defeated that very same Fujita—has also been developing his own unique worldview over the past few years. It's exactly why the anticipation for him grew so high, ultimately leading to those massive, roaring "YOH" chants during the title match.

Man, I love ROTTEN GRAFFTY so much, so I am strictly jealous here ( ̄(工) ̄). I’m begging you, Fujita... please make sure to properly tell them, "Our President is a massive fan of yours, too."
