Episode 51: The "All-Out" Morning Meeting

April 3, 2026

Every day on my way to the office, I find myself thinking, "What should I talk about at today’s morning meeting?"

Sometimes great ideas pop up, but when my mind is a total blank, I occasionally just raise my voice and shout to cover up the fact that I have zero ideas. On the surface, it might seem like a disappointing speech (and actually, it is), but in my mind, I’ve achieved at least one goal:

"Projecting a loud voice." Even if you can’t clear every hurdle, that attitude of "never giving up" will surely lead to something next time. Along with that "never-give-up" spirit, the word I value most is "Zenryoku" (All-Out / Full Power).

When you hear the word "Zenryoku," what comes to mind? Running all-out... throwing a pitch with all your might... Gaaaah! There are only two common examples! (Laughs). In other words, "all-out" usually refers to an instantaneous burst of output.

However, since I’ve made it my personal goal to spend my entire day at "all-out" capacity... Eeeeeek! It’s incredibly tough!

But there is an escape route. You simply have to pour your full power into every action. "Wait, what on earth are you talking about, Tanahashi?" Let me explain.

For example, imagine a lazy afternoon on a day off with no plans. Time just sort of... slips away, right? In moments like that, thinking, "I have to do something! I have to spend my time meaningfully!" is actually counterproductive.

Instead, on a day like that, you should be all-out... at being lazy.

Doing nothing is fine. Browsing your phone is fine. Eating potato chips while drinking a Red Coke is perfectly fine! After spending a day like that, you’ll naturally think, "Alright, time to get to work!" the next morning, right? Use that rebound effect to your advantage.

The biggest waste is leaving your feelings in a half-baked, lukewarm state.

Of course, there are days when you end up not being able to give it your all. For those times, there is one final saving grace:

Sleep with all your might. (Though, if you get too excited about sleeping, you might end up falling into the trap of not being able to fall asleep at all...)

Keep this keyword—"All-Out"—in the back of your mind. Just by doing that, you’ll start to recognize those moments where you can say, "Now is the time to give it my all!"

How does that sound? 【The Tanahashi Method of Living All-Out】.

This one day becomes a week, a month, a year, and eventually, a lifetime. As a result, I truly believe you’ll end up with a great face, overflowing with energy.
