Episode 27: Pro-Wrestling × Fashion

March 1, 2026

I love clothes. This was heavily influenced by a jeans shop that opened in my neighborhood back when I was in high school.

Brands like FULL COUNT and DENIME were denim labels I had never heard of before. Trembling at price points that were hard for a high schooler to reach, I saved up my allowance and New Year’s gift money to finally buy a pair. I was so obsessed with getting that "perfect fade" that I used to sleep in them. I even took a bath while wearing a pair of raw denim once, turning the bathwater a deep indigo blue.

So, I love clothes, and I love pro-wrestling. Naturally, I started thinking, "I want to incorporate pro-wrestling into my everyday outfits." Perhaps I just had a desire to share the things I love with the people around me.

I used to take my own designs to a local T-shirt shop to get them printed. I’d take the Supreme box logo—which was trending even back then—and swap the text for "Antonio Inoki." Talk about a hardcore fan! (lol). But unless you got really close, it just looked like a regular, stylish T-shirt.

I believe pro-wrestling T-shirts generally fall into two categories: designs meant for cheering on a specific athlete, and simple logo designs like the Bullet Club shirts. I suppose it’s all about balance.

From a wrestler’s perspective, seeing someone wear your T-shirt at the venue makes us incredibly happy. Before a match, after the entrance and while listening to the ring introductions, we have a moment to scan the crowd. When I spot someone wearing my shirt, my performance increases by about 1.5 to 10 times (according to Tanahashi research).

So, please go check out the Tokon Shop!

...Wait, I can hear you all thinking, "Is this just an advertisement?!"

But no, it’s different. By wearing a T-shirt or gear to cheer us on at the venue, your sense of immersion during the event completely changes. A block of time dedicated solely to enjoying a pro-wrestling match—I think it’s a fantastic way to refresh your mind. What do you think?
