Episode 23: The "Twist" President

February 25, 2026

I had a recording job in Nagoya, so I headed straight back to my parents' house in Gifu afterward. I stayed there because there was a show in Nagoya on Sunday.

The "living information" you gather at a venue—the matches, the atmosphere, the attendance—is incredibly important. From those things, we find points to improve and new ideas are born. Plus, just watching the wrestlers is a huge source of inspiration.

Right now, I’m holding meetings at the office with every department and speaking with all the employees. I’m listening to their job details, goals, and requests (it really feels like being a President!), but being at the venue helps me notice many things from a "non-wrestler's perspective."

Yesterday, before the matches started, I helped out at the merchandise stand, handling the checkout and handing over the products. I saw a child happily clutching a Mexican mask and felt a warm surge of "grow up big and strong." It would make me happy if that remains a joyful memory for the family forever.

After the matches began, I was watching from the soundboard area next to the stage. Our sound staff, Okawa-san, turned to me and said, "President, would you like to handle the horn?"

Wait. That’s a huge responsibility!

Fantastica Mania has a special "Mexican vibe" compared to regular shows, and the venue production is vital.

I must not interfere with the entrances or announcements.

I must press it at the "now or never" timing during the match.

Not too much, not too little.

With those points in mind, I sat there trembling next to the switch.

Ignoring my nerves, the Luchadores were lighting up the ring with spectacular high-flying moves, and the crowd was going wild.

Specifically, Soberano Jr., known as the "Prince of the Twist," is quite tall, so on top of his elegance, there’s a real dynamism to him. He’s a must-watch.

Please keep your expectations high for the rest of Fantastica Mania.

Now, I’m heading to the office.

What’s that? Am I not itching to go on tour?

Right now, I’m putting 100% of my energy into company business. I’m finding a new sense of fulfillment here.

I’ll make sure I don't become a "Prince of Petty" (Higami Oji) thinking "Man, Soberano is so cool..."

Besides, I don’t exactly have the physique of a "Prince" anymore, anyway! (← Hey now!)
