Episode 143: New New New Japan

September 1, 2026
6:00 PM. The bell marking the end of the workday silently echoed. Actually, no bell rang ( ̄(工) ̄).
Today was the memorable first day at our new office. Naturally, this morning I was fretting over whether things would run smoothly, but those worries ended up completely falling flat.
To put it in wrestling terms: it was like worrying, "Will tonight's crowd be hyped?" only to be greeted by deafening cheers during the entrance!
The new office occupies a single floor. With a rectangular layout centred around the President's desk, I can see everyone's faces all around me. It has a square shape, but so that my own demeanour doesn't become shikaku-shimen—overly stiff, rigid, and square-faced—I pledged to keep my heart well-rounded. Since my physique is already round anyway. Hey, cut that out!
There are two small meeting rooms and one large conference room. Furthermore, fitting for a modern office, we newly installed a free space that anyone can use openly.
If your brain feels like it's about to freeze, head over to the free space—having a spot for brainstorming like that is endlessly reassuring. Woo-hoo!♪ For real! So modern!
Breathing a sigh of relief as the day came to a close, it suddenly crossed my mind—a thought fit for a military strategist from the Three Kingdoms—that "at the end of the day, a company is made of its people."
A splendid office building and brand-new chairs only hold meaning because there are people gathered there. We were able to wrap up the first day of New Japan Pro-Wrestling's new office relocation safely like this.
However, I did notice the one and only, yet absolute biggest element of anxiety.
YES! Surrounding the new office, delicious-looking eateries are crammed side by side (sweats). Considering Tanahashi's current physical state, this is quite a formidable problem.
Thinking about battling this temptation every single day, defeat already looks thick in the air... Wait, I'm hungry already! (laughs)
And that's how it is. Amidst a brand new landscape, a brand new battle has begun.
